ثنا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحٍ الْجُنْدِيسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا مَعْمَرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَوَّامِ ، نَا مَطَرٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ " فِي الرَّجُلِ يُرْتَهَنُ فَيُضِيعُ ، قَالَ : إِنْ كَانَ أَقَلَّ مِمَّا فِيهِ ، رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ تَمَامَ حَقِّهِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ أَكْثَرَ فَهُوَ أَمِينٌ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) says about a person who pawns something and then it is lost, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "If the thing for which it was pawned is less than it, then he will return his full right, and if it is more than it, then he will be considered trustworthy."
