حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ ، نَا أَبُو قِلابَةَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، نَا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ عَجْلانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا يَزِيدَ الْمَدَنِيَّ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ لِبَشِيرٍ الصَّغِيرِ مَقْعَدٌ لا يَكَادُ يُخْطِئُهُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَفَقَدَهُ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَلَمَّا عَادَ إِلَى مَقْعَدِهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا بَشِيرُ لَمْ أَرَكَ مُنْذُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، فَقَالَ : بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي ابْتَعْتُ بَعِيرًا مِنْ فُلانٍ فَمَكَثَ عِنْدِي ثُمَّ شَرَدَ ، فَجِئْتُ بِهِ فَدَفَعْتُهُ إِلَى صَاحِبِهِ فَقَبِلَهُ مِنِّي ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ شَرَطَ لَكَ ذَاكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : لا وَلَكِنْ قَبِلَهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الشُّرُودَ يُرَدُّ مِنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Basheer Sagheer had a specific place to sit, where he would regularly sit with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Once, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not see him for three days. When he came to his specific place after three days, the Prophet asked him: "O Basheer! I have not seen you for the past three days." He replied: "May my parents be sacrificed for you, I had bought a camel from a certain person, it stayed with me and then it became rebellious and ran away. I went after it (caught it and brought it back) and handed it over to its owner, so he took it from me." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Did he make any condition with you?" He replied: "No, he just took it like that." So the Prophet said to him: "Do you not know that rebellious animals are returned on this basis?"
