ثنا أَبُو طَالِبٍ الْكَاتِبُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " ابْتَعْتُ زَيْتًا فِي السُّوقِ ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَوْجَبْتُهُ لَقِيَنِي رَجُلٌ فَأَعْطَانِي بِهِ رِبْحًا حَسَنًا ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَضْرِبَ عَلَى يَدِهِ ، فَأَخَذَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَلْفِي بِذِرَاعِي فَالْتَفَتُّ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، فَقَالَ : " لا تَبِعْهُ حَيْثُ ابْتَعْتَهُ حَتَّى تَحُوزَهُ إِلَى رَحْلِكَ ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ تُبَاعَ السِّلَعُ حَيْثُ تُبْتَاعُ حَتَّى تَحُوزَهَا التُّجَّارُ إِلَى رِحَالِهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I bought olive oil from the market. When I finalized the deal, a man met me and offered me more profit. I intended to strike hands with him (to finalize the sale), when someone from behind held my arm. I turned around and saw that it was Sayyiduna Zayd bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: "Do not sell it until you have bought it and taken it to your own place. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden selling goods at the same place where they were purchased. This cannot be done until the trader has taken it to his own place."
