Zaid bin Aslam narrates: I heard a man narrating, his name was Shahr, he was a trader, he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the sale by auction (Bay’ Muzayadah). So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade this: "No person should make an offer over his brother’s transaction until the other person leaves it, except in the case of spoils of war and inheritance, for which the ruling is different."
