Hadith 2823

ثنا ابْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ، قَالا : نَا بُنْدَارٌ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، نَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَاهُ دِينَارًا يَشْتَرِي بِهِ أُضْحِيَّةً ، فَاشْتَرَى أُضْحِيَّةً بِدِينَارٍ فَبَاعَهَا بِدِينَارَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ أَشْتَرِي أُضْحِيَّةً بِدِينَارٍ وَجَاءَهُ بِدِينَارٍ وَأُضْحِيَّةٍ ، فَتَصَدَّقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالدِّينَارِ ، وَدَعَا لَهُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah once gave him a dinar and said, "Buy a sacrificial animal with this." So he bought a sacrificial animal for one dinar, then sold it for two dinars, then bought another sacrificial animal for one dinar. He then came to the Prophet with one dinar and a sacrificial animal. The Prophet gave that dinar in charity and prayed for blessings for him.
