حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ ، وَالزَّكَاةِ ، وَالْحَجِّ . أَوَاجِبٌ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْعُمْرَةِ أَوَاجِبَةٌ هيَ ؟ قَالَ : لا ، وَأَنْ تَعْتَمِرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ " . رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، وَحَجَّاجٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، مَوْقُوفًا مِنْ قَوْلِ جَابِرٍ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about prayer, zakat, and Hajj: “Are these obligatory?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Yes.” The man then asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about ‘Umrah: “Is this also obligatory?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “No, but if you perform ‘Umrah, it is better for you.” The same narration is also transmitted from Jabir with another chain as a mawquf narration.
