ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُبَشِّرٍ ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، نا يَزِيدُ ، أنا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، نا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ أَدْرَكَ الإِسْلامَ لا يَسْتَطِيعُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ وَلا الظَّعْنَ ، قَالَ : " حُجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ وَاعْتَمِرْ " . كُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ.
Sayyiduna Abu Razin (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "My father has become old, he has accepted Islam, but now he is not able to perform ‘Umrah or travel." So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on behalf of your father and also perform ‘Umrah on his behalf."
