Zuhri narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stoned the Jamrah which is near the mosque of Mina, he threw seven pebbles at it, saying takbeer with each pebble he threw. Then he came forward to the front of the Jamrah and stood facing the House of Allah, raised both his hands and began to supplicate. He stood there for quite a while. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to the second Jamrah and threw seven pebbles at it, saying takbeer with each pebble he threw. Then he moved a little to the left, which is the side of the valley, and stood there facing the House of Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) raised both his hands and began to supplicate. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to the third Jamrah, which is near Aqabah, and threw seven pebbles at it, saying takbeer with each pebble he threw. Then he returned from there and did not stand by it. Zuhri stated: I heard Salim bin Abdullah narrate from his father from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) this narration. The narrator states: Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to do the same.
