ثنا ابْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، نا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَعُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَمْشِي فِي رَمْيِهِ الْجِمَارَ ذَاهِبًا وَرَاجِعًا ، وَلا يَرْكَبُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْهَا " . وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَفْعَلانِ ذَلِكَ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to throw the pebbles on foot and returned on foot as well; during this, he did not ride any mount. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to do the same.
