مَا جَاءَ فِي الْهَدْيِWhat is reported regarding sacrificial animals

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ . ح وَنا الْحُسَيْنُ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ ابْنَا إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، نا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ . ح وَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا ، نا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، قَالُوا : نا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : نَحَرْنَا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً ، الْبَدَنَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ : " لِيَشْتَرِكِ النَّفْرُ فِي الْهَدْيِ " . لَفْظُ ابْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ.
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, we sacrificed seventy camels; one camel was on behalf of seven people. On that day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A group of people may jointly sacrifice one animal." These are the words of the narrator named Ibn Mahdi.
