Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the night of meeting with the jinn, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me to bring water for ablution. So I brought a vessel to him, in which there was nabidh (a drink made from dates or raisins soaked in water). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with it. The narrator named Thaqafi, who has transmitted this narration from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), is unknown. According to one opinion, his name is Amr, and according to another opinion, his name is Abdullah bin Amr.
