Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not have an izar (lower garment), let him wear trousers, and whoever does not have shoes, let him wear leather socks (khuffs)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man asked loudly in the mosque: Which clothes should a person in the state of ihram avoid? (Imam Daraqutni, may Allah have mercy on him, states) This indicates that this statement was made in Madinah before donning the ihram. Whereas other narrators have transmitted from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this while delivering a sermon, therefore this hadith would be after the narration transmitted by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
