Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not find shoes, let him wear leather socks, but let him cut them below the ankles." The narrator named Abbas reports: If a person in the state of ihram does not find shoes, then he should wear leather socks, but he should cut both of them in such a way that they become below the ankles. The narrator named Umar reports: You should examine which narration is earlier, the hadith transmitted from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) or the hadith transmitted from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
