Hadith 2425

نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، نا أَبِي ، نا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ مُخَارِقٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الْحَجُّ كُلَّ عَامٍ ؟ قَالَ : " لا ، بَلْ حَجَّةٌ " ، قِيلَ : فَمَا السَّبِيلُ إِلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الزَّادُ وَالرَّاحِلَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Is performing Hajj every year (obligatory)?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "No! Rather, one Hajj (is obligatory)." It was asked, "What is meant by 'having the means to do so'?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Provision for the journey and means of transportation (being available)."
