Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the statement of Allah Almighty: “And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House—for whoever is able to find thereto a way.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The means to Hajj refers to provision for the journey and a mount (ride).” It was asked: Who is a pilgrim (Haji)? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The one whose hair is disheveled and who is odorous due to not applying oil.” It was asked: Which Hajj is more virtuous? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The one in which the Talbiyah is recited aloud and the blood of the sacrificial animal is shed.”
