Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Previously, I did not consider cupping to be disliked for a fasting person. Once, Sayyiduna Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) was having cupping done while he was fasting, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Both of their fasts are broken." After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted concession for a fasting person to have cupping done. The narrator states: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to have cupping done while fasting. All the narrators of this narration are trustworthy, and I do not know of any defect in it.
