بَابُ زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِChapter on zakat al-fitr

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمُنْكَدِرِيُّ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ أَبُو عُتْبَةَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، ثنا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِإِخْرَاجِ زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ ، أَنْ تُؤَدَّى قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ النَّاسِ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ " . وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يُؤَدِّي قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ بِيَوْمٍ أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ.
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the Zakat al-Fitr should be given before the people go out to perform the Eid prayer. (The narrator states) Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) himself used to give the Zakat al-Fitr one or two days before Eid.
