It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): He used to give charity on behalf of every small and big, male and female, free and slave, disbeliever and Muslim, to the extent that he would also give zakat al-fitr on behalf of his two mukatab slaves. One of the narrators of this narration is Uthman, who is Waqasi, and he is abandoned.
