حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الأَشْعَرِيُّ ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ هَمَّامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى الرِّضَا ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنْ آبَائِهِ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَالذَّكَرِ وَالأُنْثَى مِمَّنْ تَمُونُونَ " .
Imam Ali Raza (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates from Imam Musa Kazim (may Allah be pleased with him), who narrates from his father (Imam Jafar Sadiq, may Allah have mercy on him), who narrates from his grandfather (Imam Muhammad Baqir, may Allah have mercy on him), who narrates from his forefathers (that is, Imam Zain ul Abideen, Imam Hussain, and Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with them), that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the payment of Sadaqat al-Fitr obligatory upon every small and big, male and female, who are under your care.
