Hadith 2042

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْحَنَّاطُ ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْجَلِيلِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْيَحْصِبِيُّ ، أنَّهُ سَمِعَ الزُّهْرِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ الَّتِي قَالَ اللَّهُ : " وَلا تَيَمَّمُوا الْخَبِيثَ مِنْهُ تُنْفِقُونَ سورة البقرة آية 267 ، قَالَ : هُوَ الْجُعْرُورُ وَلَوْنُ ابْنِ حُبَيْقٍ ، فَأَبَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْبَلَهُمَا فِي الصَّدَقَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: This verse in which Allah Almighty has said: "And do not intend to give the inferior of it that you would spend," the narrator states: By this is meant Ja‘rur and Lawn bin Habeeq. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade accepting them in zakat.
