Hadith 2041

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو طَالِبٍ الْحَافِظُ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى الْبِرْتِيُّ ، ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، ومُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، قَالا : ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّاسُ يَتَيَمَّمُونَ شَرَّ ثِمَارِهِمْ ، فَيُخْرِجُونَهَا فِي الصَّدَقَةِ ، " فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لَوْنَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ " ، وَلَمْ يَقُولا : عَنْ أَبِيهِ . أَرْسَلَهُ مُسْلِمٌ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ.
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some people used to give bad fruit from their produce as zakat, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking or giving two types of dates as zakat. After that, he narrated the previous hadith as before. Some narrators have also transmitted this narration as a mursal narration.
