حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ الأَنْطَاكِيُّ ، ثنا أَبُو زَيْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ بْنِ بَكْرِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ، ثنا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ سَأَلَ النَّاسَ وَهُوَ غَنِيُّ جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَفِي وَجْهِهِ كُدُوحٌ وَخُدُوشٌ " ، فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا غِنَاهُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعُونَ دِرْهَمًا أَوْ قِيمَتُهَا ذَهَبًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever begs from people despite being well-off, when he comes on the Day of Resurrection, there will be a mark on his face (the narrator is unsure about the exact word here)." It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by being well-off?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whether it is a dirham or gold equal to its value."
