حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي جَحْشٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ حِينَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ : " أَنْ يَأْخُذَ مِنْ كُلِّ أَرْبَعِينَ دِينَارًا دِينَارًا ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ خَمْسَةَ دَرَاهِمَ ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسُقٍ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلا فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسِ ذَوْدٍ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِي الْخَضْرَاوَاتِ صَدَقَةٌ " .
Muhammad bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates regarding the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) to Yemen, he instructed him to collect one dinar out of every forty dinars, five dirhams out of every two hundred dirhams, and that zakat is not obligatory on less than five wasq, zakat is not obligatory on less than five camels, and zakat is not obligatory on vegetables.
