حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَسَدٍ الْهَرَوِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ حَدَّثَنَا سَلاَّمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ وَاسِعٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- اجْعَلُوا أَئِمَّتَكُمْ خِيَارَكُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ وَفْدُكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رَبِّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ . هَذَا عِنْدِى هُوَ عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَاضِى الْمَدَائِنِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Appoint your best people as your imam, for they are representatives between you and your Lord."
