حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، ثنا مِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْكَعْبِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُؤَذِّنٌ يُطْرِبُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الأَذَانَ سَهْلٌ سَمْحٌ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ أَذَانُكَ سَمْحًا سَهْلا وَإِلا فَلا تُؤَذِّنْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a muezzin who would call the adhan in a melodious manner. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The adhan is a matter of ease and gentleness. If you can call the adhan with ease and gentleness, then fine; otherwise, do not call the adhan."
