Imam Sha’bi narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a grave, the owner of which had been buried a short while ago. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer for him, and in the funeral prayer he said takbeer four times. The narrator states: I asked Imam Sha’bi, “Who narrated this hadith to you?” He replied: “A trustworthy person narrated it to me, who was present at that occasion; he is Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).”
