حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَزْهَرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّى بِنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَمَّا كَبَّرَ التَّكْبِيرَةَ الأُولَى قَرَأَ بِ أُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ حَتَّى أَسْمَعَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ تَابَعَ تَكْبِيرَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا بَقِيَتْ تَكْبِيرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ تَشَهَّدَ تَشَهُّدَ الصَّلاةِ ، ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ وَانْصَرَفَ " .
Ubaid bin Sabaaq (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Once, Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in the funeral prayer. When he said the first takbeer, after that he recited Surah Al-Fatihah, to the extent that his voice reached the people behind him. The narrator states: Then he continued saying the takbeer, until only one takbeer remained, at which point he recited the words of tashahhud of the prayer. Then he said the takbeer and concluded the prayer.
