Hadith 1824

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الْقَاضِي ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ الشَّهِيدِيُّ ، ثنا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، نا لَيْثٌ ، عَنِ الْمُرَقَّعِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهَا خَمْسًا ، وَقَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا فَإِنِّي لا أَدَعُهَا لأَحَدٍ بَعْدَهُ " .
The narrator named Marqa’ states: I performed a funeral prayer behind Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said takbeer five times in it. He explained: “I performed a funeral prayer behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he also said takbeer five times, so after him, I will not abandon this practice for the sake of anyone.”
