بَابُ التَّسْلِيمِ فِي الْجِنَازَةِ وَاحِدًا وَالتَّكْبِيرِ أَرْبَعًا وَخَمْسًا وَقِرَاءَةَ الْفَاتِحَةِChapter on saying salam once in the funeral prayer, saying takbir four or five times, and reciting Al-Fatiha
Hadith 1822

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، نا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا فَلَنْ نَدَعَهَا لأَحَدٍ " .
Ayyub bin Sa'id reports: I performed the funeral prayer behind Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said five takbirs. Then he stated that: "I performed a funeral prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he also said five takbirs, so we will not abandon them because of anyone."
