حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْخَلِيلِ ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ مِرْدَاسٍ ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، ثنا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلْتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَتُصَلِّي الْمَرْأَةُ فِي دِرْعٍ وَخِمَارٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ ؟ قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ الدِّرْعُ سَابِغًا تُغَطِّي ظُهُورَ قَدَمَيْهَا " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ : وَرَوَاهُ مَالِكٌ ، وَبَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، وَحَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَوْلَهَا ، لَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: She asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Can a woman perform prayer in only a shirt and a cloak, while she has not tied a lower garment?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If her shirt is so long that it also covers both her feet (then it is permissible)." This narration is also transmitted with some other chains, but with those chains it is narrated as the statement of Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and in that there is no mention of it being narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
