Hadith 1777

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالا : نا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، ثنا الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعُسْفَانَ ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَنَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَهُمْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَصَلَّى بِنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ ، فَقَالُوا : قَدْ كَانُوا عَلَى حَالٍ لَوْ أَصَبْنَا غِرَّتَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ قَالُوا : تَأْتِي عَلَيْهِمُ الآنَ صَلاةٌ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَبْنَائِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ ، قَالَ : فَنَزَلَ جَبْرَائِيلُ بِهَذِهِ الآيَةِ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ : وَإِذَا كُنْتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ الصَّلاةَ سورة النساء آية 102 ، قَالَ : فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَأَمَرَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخَذُوا السِّلاحَ فَصَفَّنَا خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَرَكَعْنَا جَمِيعًا ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَرَفَعْنَا جَمِيعًا ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ ، قَالَ : وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ يَحْرُسُونَهُمْ ، فَلَمَّا سَجَدُوا وَقَامُوا جَلَسَ الآخَرُونَ فَسَجَدُوا فِي مَكَانِهِمْ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ هَؤُلاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلاءِ وَجَاءَ هَؤُلاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلاءِ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ رَكَعَ فَرَكَعُوا جَمِيعًا ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ فَرَفَعُوا جَمِيعًا ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالصَّفُّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ يَحْرُسُونَهُمْ ، فَلَمَّا جَلَسَ الآخَرُونَ سَجَدُوا ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، قَالَ : فَصَلاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّةً بِعُسْفَانَ وَمَرَّةً فِي أَرْضِ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyash Zurqi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at the place of Usfan. The polytheists came before us, their leader was Khalid bin Walid. The polytheists came between us and the Qiblah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) led us in the Zuhr prayer. The polytheists said: "They are now in such a state that if we attack them in their moment of heedlessness (it would be appropriate), the time for their prayer has come, which is more beloved to them than their children and their own lives." Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) came with this verse between Zuhr and Asr: "And when you are among them, then lead them in prayer." When the time for prayer came, by the order of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the people took up their weapons. We formed two rows behind the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) went into ruku‘, so we all went into ruku‘. Then when he raised his blessed head, we all raised our heads. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the row closest to him went into prostration, while the people of the other row remained standing and guarded them. When the first row had completed their prostration and stood up, the people of the rear row went into prostration. Then the people of the rear row came forward to the place of the front row, and the front row moved to the place of the rear row. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) went into ruku‘, so all the people went into ruku‘ with him. Then when he raised his head, all the people raised their heads. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the row closest to him went into prostration, while the other row remained standing and guarded them. When those people sat down, the people of the other row went into prostration. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) ended the prayer with salam along with all the people. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace be upon him) led the prayer in this manner twice, once at Usfan and once in the area of Banu Sulaym.
