حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَيُّوبَ ، وَجَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّونَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ : فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ سورة التوبة آية 108 ، فَقَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَثْنَى عَلَيْكُمْ خَيْرًا فِي الطَّهُورِ ، فَمَا طُهُورُكُمْ هَذَا ؟ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، نَتَوَضَّأُ لِلصَّلاةِ وَنَغْتَسِلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَهَلْ مَعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ غَيْرِهِ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَسْتَنْجِيَ بِالْمَاءِ ، فَقَالَ : " هُوَ ذَلِكَ فَعَلَيْكُمُوهُ " . عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ لَيْسَ بِقَوِيٍّ.
Talhah bin Nafi’ narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari, Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari, and Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them) reported regarding this verse from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (the verse is:) “There are those in it who love to purify themselves, and Allah loves those who purify themselves well.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O group of Ansar! Allah has praised you greatly regarding purification. What is your method of purification?” They replied: “O Messenger of Allah! We perform wudu for prayer, and we perform ghusl in the state of major impurity.” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Is there any other method you have besides this?” They replied: “No! However, when any one of us relieves himself, he likes to use water for istinja (cleaning).” So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “That must be the reason; continue to adhere to it.” The narrator of this narration, Utbah bin Abu Hakim, is not reliable.
