كِتَابُ الْعِيدَيْنِThe Book of the Two Eids
Hadith 1724

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَاعِدٍ ، قَالا : نا بُنْدَارٌ ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : " شَهِدْتُ الصَّلاةَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ فَبَدَأَ بِالصَّلاةِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ بِلا أَذَانٍ وَلا إِقَامَةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I participated in the prayer on the day of Eid behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed the prayer before delivering the sermon, and it was without any adhan or iqamah.
