Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not go out (to perform the prayer) on the day of Eid al-Fitr until he had eaten something, and on the day of Eid al-Adha, he would not eat anything until he returned (after performing the Eid prayer), then he would eat from the meat of the sacrifice. The narrator named ‘Abd al-Samad has narrated these words: until he had performed the sacrifice.
