Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform two rak‘ahs after Witr. He (peace be upon him) would perform these rak‘ahs sitting. In the first rak‘ah, he (peace be upon him) would recite Surah al-Fatihah and Surah al-Zilzal, and in the second rak‘ah, Surah al-Fatihah and Surah al-Kafirun. The narrator named Abu Bakr stated: This is the method in which the people of Basra are unique in transmitting, and the people of Sham have preserved it.
