حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، وَسَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَافِعِ بْنِ الْعَمْيَاءِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الصَّلاةُ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى أَنْ تَشَهَّدْ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَتَبَأَّسْ وَتَمَسْكَنْ وَتَقَنَّعْ بِيَدِكَ ، وَتَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ اللَّهُمَّ ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ " . رَوَاهُ اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي أَنَسٍ ، وَأَسْنَدَهُ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ.
Sayyiduna Mutalib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Nafl prayer should be performed two by two; after praying two rak‘ahs, you will sit in Tashahhud, express humility and submissiveness, and raise both your hands saying: 'O Allah, O Allah.' Whoever does not do so, (then his prayer) will be incomplete." The same narration is also transmitted from Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) through another chain of narration.
