حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، نا أَبِي ، وَشُعَيْبُ بْنُ اللَّيْثِ ، قَالا : نا اللَّيْثُ ، نا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا ، فَقَرَأَ ص ، فَلَمَّا مَرَّ بِالسَّجْدَةِ نزل فَسَجَدَ وَسَجَدْنَاهَا مَعَهُ ، وَقَرَأَهَا مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ السَّجْدَةَ تَشِزْنَا لِلسُّجُودِ ، فَلَمَّا رَآنَا قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا هِيَ تَوْبَةُ نَبِيٍّ ، وَلَكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَدِ اسْتَعْدَدْتُمْ لِلسُّجُودِ ، فَنَزَلَ وَسَجَدَ وَسَجَدْنَا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon to us, and he recited Surah Sad. When he reached the verse of prostration, he descended from the pulpit and performed prostration, and we also performed prostration with him. Then he recited this Surah again, and when he reached the verse of prostration, we were ready to perform prostration. When he noticed us, he said: "This is an incident of a prophet's repentance, and I see that you are ready to perform prostration." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) descended from the pulpit, performed prostration, and we also performed prostration.
