Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The issue of people sleeping through the time of prayer was mentioned before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace be upon him) said: "There is no negligence in sleeping; negligence is in wakefulness. When someone forgets a prayer or sleeps through its time, then as soon as he remembers, he should perform it, or on the next day at the same time (as a make-up prayer), he should perform it." The narrator states: Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) heard me narrating this hadith, so he said to me: O young man! Remember the hadith you are narrating, for I too have heard this hadith from the tongue of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
