بَابُ صَلَاةِ الْمَرِيضِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ الْقِيَامَ وَالْفَرِيضَةُ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِChapter on the prayer of the sick person who cannot stand and the obligatory prayer on a mount
Hadith 1427

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ سَنْدَوَيْهِ الْبُنْدَارُ ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، نا وَكِيعٌ ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ لِي النَّاصُورُ ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " صَلِّ قَائِمًا ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَقَاعِدًا ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَعَلَى جَنْبٍ " .
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was suffering from fistula, so I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the prayer. He (peace be upon him) said: "Perform the prayer standing; if you are unable to do so, then perform it sitting; if you are unable to do even that, then perform it lying on your side."
