بَابُ ذِكْرِ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ بِهِ وَكَيْفِيَّةِ التَّسْلِيمِChapter on what takes one out of prayer and the manner of saying salam
Hadith 1347

ثنا بَدْرُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ الْقَاضِي ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَاعِدٍ ، قَالا : ثنا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ فَضَالَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، بِالْكُوفَةِ ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ ، وَإِذَا سَلَّمَ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ يُرَى بَيَاضَ خَدِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ وَالأَيْسَرِ ، وَكَانَ تَسْلِيمُهُ : السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ ، السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his head to the right to say salam, the whiteness of his right cheek would become visible, and when he turned his head to the left to say salam, the whiteness of his left cheek would become visible. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would say salam with these words: "As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah, as-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah."
