Chapter: The saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "The imam is appointed to be followed."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْحَسَّانِيُّ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا قِرَاءَةَ خَلْفَ الإِمَامِ " . هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ.
Imam Sha'bi narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be no recitation behind the Imam." This narration is mursal.
