حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الإِصْطَخْرِيُّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، مِنْ كِتَابِهِ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، ثنا أبِي ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ جَوَّابٍ التَّيْمِيِّ ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ خَلْفَ الإِمَامِ ، فَقَالَ : " اقْرَأْ بِ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ ، قُلْتُ : وَإِنْ كُنْتَ أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ : وَإِنْ كُنْتُ أَنَا ، قُلْتُ : وَإِنْ جَهَرْتَ ؟ قَالَ : وَإِنْ جَهَرْتُ " . رُوَاتُهُ كُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ.
Yazid bin Sharik reports: He asked Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about the issue of recitation behind the Imam, so he replied: "You should recite Surah Al-Fatihah." (The narrator says) I asked: Even if (the Imam) is you? He replied: "Even if (the Imam) is me." (The narrator says) I asked: Even if you are reciting aloud? He replied: "Even if I am reciting aloud (still you should recite Surah Al-Fatihah)." All the narrators of this narration are trustworthy.
