قُرِئَ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ : حَدَّثَكُمْ أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، وَقُرِئَ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قَحْطَبَةَ ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ حَدَّثَكُمْ مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ ، قَالا : نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأُمَوِيُّ ، وَقُرِئَ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ حَدَّثَكُمْ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الأُمَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي ، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَرَأَ يَقْطَعُ قِرَاءَتَهُ آيَةً : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ { 1 } الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ { 2 } الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ { 3 } مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ { 4 } سورة الفاتحة آية 1-4 " . وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، إِسْنَادُهُ صَحِيحٌ ، وَكُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ . قَالَ لَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ : وَرَوَاهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، فَزَادَ فِيهِ كَلامًا.
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite (the Qur'an), he would recite each verse separately. He would recite "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem." These are the words of the narration from the narrator Abdullah bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him). Its chain is authentic, and all its narrators are trustworthy. Abdullah bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this to us: Umar bin Haroon (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted it from Ibn Jurayj (may Allah have mercy on him), and he has narrated some additional words in it.
