حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ هَارُونَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نا إبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، نا عُمَرُ بْنُ هَارُونَ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ { 1 } الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ { 2 } الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ { 3 } مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ { 4 } إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ { 5 } اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ { 6 } صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا الضَّالِّينَ { 7 } سورة الفاتحة آية 1-7 ، فَقَطَعَهَا آيَةً آيَةً وَعَدَّهَا عَدَّ الأَعْرَابِ ، وَعَدَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ آيَةً ، وَلَمْ يَعُدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in this manner: "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem, Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil 'alameen, ar-Rahman ar-Raheem" up to "wa la ad-dalleen." He would recite these verses separately, one by one. After that, the narrator counted these verses, and he counted "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem" as one verse and did not count "alayhim" as a separate verse.
