حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو طَالِبٍ الْحَافِظُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، ثنا جَدِّي ، ثنا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْفَارِسِيُّ ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ خَرَّزَاذَ ، ثنا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، مِنْ كِتَابِهِ ثُمَّ مَحَاهُ بَعْدَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا قَرَأَ وَهُوَ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاةَ بِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ " . قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : " هِيَ آيَةٌ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَاتِحَةَ الْكِتَابِ فَإِنَّهَا الآيَةُ السَّابِعَةُ " ، وَقَالَ الْفَارِسِيُّ : " إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَمَّ النَّاسَ قَرَأَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ " ، لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى هَذَا.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in prayer and recited (Qur'an), he would begin the recitation with "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: This is a verse from the Book of Allah. If you wish, you may recite it at the beginning of the Qur'an. It is the seventh verse of Surah al-Fatihah. The narrator named Farsi (may Allah have mercy on him) has transmitted these words: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in prayer, he would recite "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim." He did not transmit any words beyond this.
