بَابُ دُعَاءِ الِاسْتِفْتَاحِ بَعْدَ التَّكْبِيرِChapter on the opening supplication after the takbir

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عُثْمَانُ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاةَ ، يَقُولُ : " سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ ، وَلا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ " . يُسْمِعُنَا ذَلِكَ.
Abu Wa'il narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite this supplication at the beginning of the prayer: "You are Pure, O Allah! All praise is exclusively for You, Your name is blessed, Your majesty is exalted and supreme, and there is no deity except You." Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to make us hear these words (i.e., he would recite these words aloud).
