بَابُ دُعَاءِ الِاسْتِفْتَاحِ بَعْدَ التَّكْبِيرِChapter on the opening supplication after the takbir

نا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، نا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ الْعِجْلِيِّ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاةَ كَبَّرَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ إِبْهَامَيْهِ أُذُنَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise both hands after saying the opening takbir in prayer until his thumbs reached the level of his ears, then he would recite: "Glory be to You, O Allah! Praise is exclusively for You, Your name is blessed, Your majesty is exalted and sublime, and there is no deity except You."
