بَابٌ فِي أَخْذِ الشِّمَالِ بِالْيَمِينِ فِي الصَّلَاةِChapter on placing the left hand over the right in prayer
Hadith 1107

وَذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَبِي زَيْنَبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : " مَرَّ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَاضِعَ شِمَالَهُ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَمِينِهِ فَجَعَلَهَا عَلَى شِمَالِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him while he was performing prayer. He had placed his left hand over his right hand, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took his right hand and placed it over his left hand.
