بَابٌ فِي أَخْذِ الشِّمَالِ بِالْيَمِينِ فِي الصَّلَاةِChapter on placing the left hand over the right in prayer
Hadith 1103

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ مِنْ سُنَّةِ الصَّلاةِ وَضْعَ الْيَمِينِ عَلَى الشِّمَالِ تَحْتَ السُّرَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Among the Sunnahs of prayer is also this: the right hand should be placed over the left hand below the navel."
