Hadith 1083

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ النَّطَّاحِ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ نُدْبَةَ ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ الْمَكِّيُّ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ اثْنَانِ صَلَّيَا مَعًا فَإِذَا كَانُوا ثَلاثَةً تَقَدَّمَ أَحَدُهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When there are two men, they should stand together and perform the prayer, and if there are three, then one of them should step forward (as the imam)."
